Our Story
In 2005, a storm came through New Orleans forever changing the city and those who lived here. The only way through was together. Project Fleur-de-lis was built from this story. Mental health professionals from schools across the city had a place to share, collaborate, and support one another while navigating how to be there for their students. 15 years later, a pandemic shifted the world once again and Project Fleur-de-lis remains; A small team with a mighty force ascribed to its ever resilient local and national partners and a steady determination to keep moving forward.
Program
Today, Project Fleur-de-lis is a collaborative program linking local social service agencies, schools, nationally recognized researchers, program developers, and clinicians in a coordinated effort to provide state-of-the-art mental health services within our schools and community. These services include evidence-based treatments, suicide prevention, and crisis response through trauma, grief, bereavement, and restorative lenses. PFDL places a strong emphasis on workforce development by providing education and training for the local school and community workforce, as well as the incoming workforce through experienced and structured internship opportunities.
